Cheap way to connect USB devices to iPad

I'm sure the iStore has a dongle, but hoping there is a cheap way of doing this.

Old iPad, guessing 2012 or so, would like to use an apple USB keyboard and drawing pad.

As far as I can see, the iPad only has a single lightning connector.
