Listening to Wendy Knowler on 702 yesterday, I learnt something which I'm sharing

Apparently, all cars with Air-Bags have an "event handler" which records the cars last couple of seconds (speed, brake etc.). This was from someone at Old Mutual. I had no idea and apparently the data can be use for you/against you in the event of an accident that results in a claim.
BTW the insurance she was speaking of used this data to REJECT a claim on the grounds of negligence by the driver.
Anyone else aware of this ?

the recommendation is to now use a dash cam so you have your own irrefutable evidence (assuming you're not at fault, otherwise it's probably best to hide the camera under the seat when the cops show up).

What is a good reasonably priced dash cam and what's the battery life of these things ?
