A close friend of mine recently bought a second-hand Dhaitsu Terios, 2014 model. The vehicle is in very good condition, but after her first service, they told her that her brake fluid reservoir needs a new cap. A replacement item was not available. She asked me to have a look and what I saw was a spray paint cap used as the cover for the brake fluid reservoir. I was horrified by this and their apparent lack of pointing out to her the importance of a properly good functioning brake fluid system. As a McGiver fix, I turned some PTFE tape around the reservoir neck to make the spray paint cap fit tight.

She wants to embark on a road trip of approx 600 km this weekend with the brake fluid issue as is. Is this trip irresponsible and dangerous driving the vehicle as is? I think so, but I would like to get your input, please. Car mechanics is not my forte.
