I paid $150 for an internal liteon blu ray drive for my PC, it came with the necessary software too. No issues for me. This is an interesting debate which will be great to refer back to in 1 years time. I love my HD stuff, and now since I own quite a bit of HD stuff I've evenstopped watching movies in the cinemas, they just don't compete in my opinion. The only thing that they have is the HUGE screen and latest releases, well large screens can be obtained with a good projector and the interwebs solved the *latest releases* issue if you are a pirater. I do think Blu ray will survive, I don't think DVD came in with a HUGE bang when it did but it gathered good momentum and Blu Ray should do the same. Also, there is waaay too much money involved in this for the BDA to let it fail so they will take the necessary steps to make it succeed. After reading the above I do agree tho, the licensing is way too overpriced! As HD TV's get more and more popular and cheaper then people will be wanting the HD content. Just out of interest, does anyone have any information regarding the licensing costs of the HD-DVD disks? And then the production costs would also be interesting. I have also been quite disapointed with the cost of new Blu ray releases. Has anyone seen any Blu Ray rentals available anywhere (it might seem like a stupid question but I've been stuck in West Africa for the last 2 years and am now finally back!)
