Oddly, I am less concerned with the appearance of the speakers than I am with the performance. The 800, 801 and 802 series are aesthetically appealing and a pleasure to look at like works of art however, they are a bastard to drive without a beast of an amp. I find it quite ludicrous that owners of said speakers will actually boast about how much power is required to get the best out of the speakers. Hence, should you decide to invest in a pair of these speakers, that is only the beginning of your financial pain. A ridiculously expensive amplifier is then needed and of course there is the ongoing hefty electricity bill for running the setup. Nobody seems to be willing to raise the issue of bad design, whether it is the drivers, the crossovers or a combination of the two that makes them so hard to drive. There are much more efficient speakers from other top rated and well-respected manufacturers that deliver the goods without needing exorbitant amplification. As always, just my opinion.
