I downloaded the manuals for the Xbox and the HDMI cable today and there it mentions that you can use HDMI for the video feed and either RCA or Coax for sound, but according to my friend he cannot use the standard AV connection on the Xbox in conjunction with HDMI as apparently the AV connection is so big that it covers the HDMI port, thereby preventing the HDMI port to be used while using the standard AV port. Can anyone shed some light on this as it does not make sense that the manual specifies that both outputs can be used. I did ask him to bring the Xbox and the two cables to work tomorrow though. If it was possible to use both outputs, he can use the stereo connectors to play the sound through his HTIB and can save a lot of money as he would not have to buy another AVR and speakers. To some guys the sound from an HTIB is more than enough to satisfy their needs ::)
