I have to side with dotVIBE here. Even on my lowly 42" 720p plasma TV, the difference between even a very well mastered DVD such as Batman Begins and a Blu-ray is obvious - even to non-geeks ;) The difference in picture quality may not be worth it to you but it's certainly very visible. I don't have a problem watching a DVD much as I don't have a problem watching MPEG files - if the material is decent and worth watching, the video quality won't interfere with my enjoyment. But the Blu-ray is that much closer to being "cinema-like". (The player used was a PS3, which also happens to be very decent at upscaling DVD content.) Back on topic, the BD version of Watchmen is simply stunning! What a fantastic movie - it has it all. Eye-popping visuals, excellent soundtrack (both for HT buffs as well as for music fans), acting, story/concept. Highly recommended - and I haven't even heard the high-res soundtrack yet, only plain DTS!
