I was trying to make the point that there is a point where an amplifier's power is sufficient for a speaker and that using a more power amplifier would likely not have any benefit. If we have a speaker sufficiently being powered by 50W, would 100W have any benefits ? Is there a point where adding more watts becomes redundant. I also wanted to know what people typically drive their speakers with and do they find it sufficient for the speakers. I am looking to buy an amp for an efficient set of speakers(95db) and wanted to know other peoples opinions on power vs quality. My original statement was a little broad and ill defined, but it was still very interesting to see other people's comments. A good example to me is NAD where people are always surprised how well there low powered units fair against more powerfully rated counterparts.
