[QUOTE="kinosfronimos, post: 1015859, member: 14190"] Cool, some interesting thoughts to consider... I don't know that throwing 7-10k at a newer AVR will get me wildly better sound than my current 15y.o. Cambridge Audio 540Rv3...? A newer AVR will however get me much newer features. Also, with 6ohm speakers (which I won't be changing), I don't really need power amps (as I understand it). There's also little to be done with the limitations of the room (double volume, carpets on tiles, but also open plan to mezzanine and kitchen...). The TV would be the next upgrade after a 4k AVR (currently have a 1080p LED) - again any modern AVR would do 4k - so still looking for the key reasons to seek out and chose one semi-similar AVR of 2-3y.o. over another?
