So a bit of an update regarding my experience, December 24th went in to SARS in Alberton to apply for my importers and exporters code. It is over a month later and I have still not received anything, gave them a call and when asking me a few security questions I got some wrong - apparently my cell number and my address. I checked the info on SARS e-filling afterwards and it was correct.... Anyways, the lady checked my case number (which was written down on a piece of paper for me before I left SARS) and says my application was approved on 22nd January. Tells me I can press # to take a survey. After asking her if she can give me the codes, she tells me I need to email nationalregistrationqueries[member=17681]sars[/member].gov.za and that it will take a while to get a response. After asking a few more questions she tells me she cannot provide me with the number, I need to email them and attached a copy of my ID and have my case number as the subject and that it will take a while for them to respond to me, she cannot give me a rough idea as to how long it will take. So not sure why I did not receive any SMS or email with my code, not sure why it has taken much longer for my application to be approved. I am hoping I do get a response from the above email address and get my importers and exporters code. I guess I wait now and see. This is rather frustrating.
