[QUOTE="ron g, post: 796248, member: 13653"] it's so long since i used outlook express i really can't remember how it works. i have found in general that people who experience missing data have accidentally moved it to a different directory by dragging a mouse across it. you may well have already tried this, but is there not a search function which lets you search across all mail directories? that is normally my 2nd stop (deleted items is 1st) when looking for missing mails. if not you will need an outlook express mail recovery tool which can be found on a google search. i have used these successfully, but so long ago now that i cannot remember which one i used. outlook express data files do not automatically delete e-mails, even after you have deleted them from deleted items. the mails are kept in the data file, but marked as deleted & not visible in outlook until you run a compress on the data file. running the recovery program is normally successful if you have not done a compress. & keep your mail data files to a reasonable size. anything over 1gb becomes unstable & prone to corruption.
