1) Covers dirty, fuzzballed, horizontal dirtstripe across one that might have caused internal damage. Waterstain on the bottom of one, as though it had been irregularly immersed to a depth of +-10cm 2) Plastic feet badly stained 3) No treble from either at first. Moved one and the tweeter started up - the other stayed schtum 4) The one that played treble made strange sounding clicks if the pitch changed abruptly 5) The same one had a bad buzz in the bass - could have been a loose component or a bad ribbon (I think) 6) The bass on both of them sounded muffled and badly distorted, like an old Pilot valve radio turned up to max and heard from three rooms away Apparently there is a bloke in CT who repairs these. Maybe I'll get hold of him and see what can be done, if anything. I've wanted a pair of these for years. (To test them, I used the MF A120 amp I picked up recently, with my kid's old Walkman as source. Tested at home first, so there was nothing wrong there.)
