Afyer 3 days of playing continiously...: The seperation and soundstage of the Katana has improved and there is a smaller difference between the DACs as on the first day, but it is till there though. The Katana definitely opened up a bit. The Breeze have a more aggressive sounding attack on string plucks and instrument taps/drumming. Snair drums are definitely more impactful as well. It seems the high frequencies have a bit more crispyness and it could be perceived as shouty or grainy compared to the Katana's mellowness. Depends on which sound you are used to I guess. What is interesting is that when I switch the filter on the Breeze from the Fast FIR to the Slow setting, this difference seems to be almost gone. Could this be just a difference in filter settings...? Will see. The Katana has a more relaxed, musical, fluid sound with all the details still there. Unusually this is a tradeoff. I did a primitive SPL test with a frequency sweep, a 1khz 0db reference tone, and some white and pink noise. It seems like volumes are identical over the ranges that I could measure. Volume was initially matched with the 1khz test tone. I have now started up die Allo Boss DAC to compare as well. Will listen tonight for the differences. Others to follow over time. I will for now let it sit to continue playing, and at the end of the weekend try to report back. Have a lovely long weekend! Cheers, W Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
