I have started using 5U4/5Z3 rectifier and opted for choke input filter for the power supply. Circuit based on Western Electric 91A amplifier, modified for stereo operation. Input tube either EF86 or 6SJ7.

I agree about the 128kB being terrible. This is the utoob standard resolution as far as I can see. I would not go under 192kB, preferring 256kB and up. AAC gives better sound than mp3 at the same resolution in my opinion. FLAC is my preferred audio codec for critical listening.
