    Do you power condition?

An experience is your involvement and observation of some thing or event, it is not a statement to declare the following is not subject to fact. You stated unequivocally that it made a significant difference to image quality, easily visible. There was no mitigation, no "I felt" or "it seemed to...

    Do you power condition?

You stated the improvement as a point of fact. Science isn't pseudoscience because you don't like the findings.

    Do you power condition?

Can't see how it could make any difference to the picture at all - outside of providing one or not. I'll leave this here: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/ps-audio-powerplant-12-review-ac-regenerator.31298/

    Frequently Misspelled audiophile terms

This is one my wife and I sometimes discuss. I think if it's a person's name, it's important to try and pronounce it correctly, but often with places and objects, I think it's often more appropriate to go with how one would pronounce the word in their native language - we don't pronounce Paris...

    That time again.

The flu vaccine doesn't make you sick, but it can provoke an immune reaction. How the production of antibodies affects you depends on the person. Also possible to have caught the flu around the same time you get the shot.

REW Measurements of AlleyCat's Room- Take 2

The first graph's scaling is not good and the second I'd guess is R+L measured simultaneously and smoothed psychoacoustically. Right now there's not much in the way of rhyme or reason behind Alleycat's measurements - other than perhaps the understandable desire to produce flattering graphs...

REW Measurements of AlleyCat's Room- Take 2

That series by Geoff is really good - presented in a very practical manner. He used to work with a colleague of my wife's.

REW Measurements of AlleyCat's Room- Take 2

I had the later Ultra version of these subs (dual config) and they did a good job with my LS50s, but I don't think they're commensurate with your B1s. Also the 6-band auto GEQ that comes with them is pretty much useless.

REW Measurements of AlleyCat's Room- Take 2

The only way I can fathom what you've written above is that you do not understand. If your in-room response deviates dramatically from the predicted response, your issue is not with the measurement but with the room. This is how my LS50 Metas measure up to the predicted response on Erin's...

REW Measurements of AlleyCat's Room- Take 2

Two different modes of interaction (with a blending in the middle) - in both cases REW can be used to map out the issues. I believe this is a misunderstanding on your part. No one is saying what you seem to think they are saying, all that Klippel is showing you is how placing a given speaker...

REW Measurements of AlleyCat's Room- Take 2

You are comparing two different things - Klippel tells you nothing about the room, only the speaker and its predicted behaviour, not individual effects within the room. I'm talking about my room, comparing measurements with the floor and no coffee table, floor reflections absorbed and with the...

REW Measurements of AlleyCat's Room- Take 2

I don't think it has anything to do with the Klippel testing system, more that our hearing system is not nearly as sensitive to sounds coming from above and below as they are the horizontal. If I look at my measurements, the floor doesn't seem to come into it - coffee table yes, but not the...

REW Measurements of AlleyCat's Room- Take 2

I only chatted to him briefly, I just wanted to let him know I appreciated his online presentations. He was very generous with his time to a stranger approaching him in an airport, but my flight was about to board and my wife was waiting on me. We briefly talked about panels and the brand he's...

It's a funny coincidence given this thread, but I bumped into Anthony Grimani yesterday in Munich Airport (he's there for the High End show).

    Members' Kit pics

They’re from a company called GIK - you see them quite often in the background of YouTube videos. I don’t know if they ship to SA though.

Could you post a photo of your mic as you have it at the measurement position?

REW Measurements of AlleyCat's Room- Take 2

I know I've mentioned this before and you're just experimenting, but it's best to start by figuring out the best listening position before you start comparing speaker placement options This video does a good job of conveying the fundamentals, if you haven't seen it already:

REW Measurements of AlleyCat's Room- Take 2

What does measurement have to do with a flat system? Don't confuse a smooth response with a flat response - or conflate poor implementation of EQ with measurement. Personally I find the ability to measure and verify decreases sleepless nights.

REW Measurements of AlleyCat's Room- Take 2

For bass management it's not necessary, or even preferable, to EQ per channel. I would also think the measured performance of such DACs in contrast with the in-room response would render moot the DAC debate, but regardless, keep an eye out for something similar that better meets your criteria...
