Those woofers are firing into the seat. If you look at most underseat enclosures the woofers fire downwards into the floor .......... woofers sound better when they load against a solid surface.

Looks like this may be the case. I disconnected the new EOL resistor and connected the wire straight to the PIR and it seems to be working fine now. This weekend I will try and trace the path of the cable back to the alarm panel and see if there is a resistor somewhere along the cable.

I have a the IDS X series alarm system and also looking for a battery solution as the current battery cant handle the daily bouts of loadshedding we are experiencing. Will changing to a gel battery or AGM be better than the current SLA? I know the IDS system doesnt like lithium batteries.

I use normal heatshrink and a small heat gun to neaten up my speaker cable terminations. Takealot has a few kits available with different sizes and colours of heatshrink.
