I obtained a G36 Stereo Reel to Reel Reel tape recorder that is in a good cosmetic condition. It is complete with its lid and a remote function cord. I will still take is out of its enclosure to inspect it before I will switch it on. I inspected its heads and it looks still in a good condition...

The bias resistors are called standee resistors. Very rare. Not available anymore. It may be possible to repair and rebuild it.

This brings back very good memories. I will take it out of storage and play some music through the ST60. Some information, the HT voltage is 430. The output transformers differs from that off the ST50. Try to keep the set as original as possible. All the best with the restoration.

There is another 160 model namely, the AVO 160A. I looks the same as the 160 valve tester. Its complete service and operating manual is available on the Internet.

I have seen some160 valve testers with DIY modifications for example a digital grid voltmeter. I have the original service manual for the 160 and this modification is not mention in it.

That is probably a DIY modification on the 160 valve tester.
