Why not a phono preamplifier + a power amplifier? NAD is expesive because its brand and aluminum shell.

A sound bar can be more convenient but you may need to adjust to the sound since you are familiar with Yamaha speakers.

Why do you want SPDIF or COAX outputs? Usually a DAC doesn't have digital output.

Just got yourself a pair of speaker first, then choose the suitable amps, equalizers, DACs and the players.

It depends on the power and impedance of your bookshelf speakers. Usually the power of Amplifier can be twice as the power of speakers.
