This is what I do. Press the knob down and move to the high/full position. Press the starter while holding the knob down, wait for about 5 sec then release. If it still goes out wait for a little longer before releasing. Hope this helps.

Try HD Cabling, I used a Hdmi switcher from them a few years ago as my older AVR did not have hdmi inputs. Used the optical out on the switcher for audio and the hdmi for video. Worked well
