    Wristwatch,any love?

That looks very nice. I do feel I wasted $95 on the SuppaParts steel bracelet as the clip assembly is quite thick and digs in to my wrist. I bought a regular Citizen bracelet which is wider and looks better which I am happier with. Only cost 66 Euro shipped from Netherlands.

    Wristwatch,any love?

Did a little band change on my Citizen Promaster Aqualand Depth Meter this weekend. The rubber strap tore slightly at the pins so I ordered strap adapters from Suppa Parts. https://suppaparts.com/BN-Adapters.php Pretty happy with the results, case diameter is 53mm so it's pretty big. Original...

    Wristwatch,any love?

My wife bought me this watch for my 50th birthday. I'm not 50 quite yet, only at the end of October but we were in SA for a few weeks recently and celebrated my birthday with friends so she gave it to me then. It's not particularly special in brand or movement but it does have meteorite in the...

    Solder Iron

I looked at Cardas but I was going ordering from Amazon UK as the delivery times are better and sometimes the prices are lower. But, I have ordered from the US now with the solder recommended by "handsome" Cardas was a little too expensive for me. Thanks, I will do

    Solder Iron

I'm finally getting around to ordering the solder, flux, wick etc that I need to finish the project but Amazon UK seems to be very keen on lead free solder. Is it a big nono using lead free? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B084ZQZM4F/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1EUF5BGN8IOEJ&psc=1...

    Solder Iron

I see they ship overseas, their international shipping is less than half of one the quotes I received and is with DHL Express. Communica quoted R840 for shipping to Qatar and also removed the VAT from the price of the item. The worst quote I got for shipping was R1774 and the other was R1243

    Solder Iron

I eventually went with this, will collect from a friends place in Cape Town when i'm there next month. Shipping to Qatar is just too pricey unfortunately. https://www.magnumproducts.co.za/products/soldering-iron-1220

    PCIe DAC for PC

Good question and I cannot remember exactly why I wanted that as well. Maybe versatility or output to a recording device. I cannot recall. However, I did eventually go with an SMSL SU-9n paired with a set of Adam Aduio T7V powered monitors. Pretty happy with the result.
