Try and speak to Stormy Norman and ask him to keep a eye open, he assisted me in the past. Got what i was looking for without breaking the bank.

There are many decent subs going up for grabs, stick to the major brands as indicated by Drifter. Make sure to demo before you purchase, as i have seen that some subs distort easily or their amps does not work properly anymore.

Think you must look on this forum or avsa for a decent secound hand sub, have seen a couple of nice ones going for around R3k.

Agree, just double the price of the 2.1, but sub is more powerful and goes deeper. Guess, it depends on the amount of $$$ you want to spend.

My dad got the JBL 2.1 system for his second tv room and was very pleased with the sound. He paid roughly R4k for it.

I hear you, but if I want to watch 4k, I need to open my wallet or search for it. 99% of material I still watch is not 4k. Hopefully the prices will drop and more material will become available, its still fairly expensive to purchase it, compared to the normal blue-rays.

Good to know, just a shame the material for 4k and atmos is so scares.
