Thanks Ken, makes sense to leave both on flat in that case (haven't tested movies, but flat is definitely better for music, so should be for movies too as you described). Unfortunately both is from ATV, but I suppose that will change if I split my music source from the equation later on.

I'm going to tread carefully hear as I'm not convinced that my understanding is correct... so I'll explain my thinking/experience as the justification. The "reference" setting from my understanding has a high end roll off, which are better geared to movies - but not ideal for music. The flat...

    Denon multeq xt32 - Music

I've searched online but can't seem to find anything related to saving settings/profiles on the Denon amp? I've got a couple of buttons at the bottom of my remote "Movie, Music etc". I'm trying to change the Audyssey offset on music, so I don't have to keep going into the menu to do it for music...

    Denon multeq xt32 - Music

Well now with a decent sub installed... This couldn't be more accurate. Thanks for the advice. Finally have the balance perfect. I'm setting music to play stereo (2.1) with room correction and it sounds better than "direct". I do however set my music profile to "flat" and not "reference"...

Budget subwoofer - But what's the budget?

Thanks BiZKiT, I've got an existing relationship with Vaughan from Smart Lifestyle. Ordered from him this morning to make sure I'm getting the promotional price. Much appreciated.

    Perfect thanks for the info!

Budget subwoofer - But what's the budget?

Ok, so there's nothing new to the table (other than DIY which is out of the question due to lack of knowledge/time). The question is then PB or sb1000? At this stage I'm leaning towards the PB, and will rely on tuning (hopefully the Denon offers enough) to make it fit. Can anyone point me in a...

Budget subwoofer - But what's the budget?

Thanks, thats less than I expected. Can't believe I haven't noticed it before, but my current subs can't even play the low notes in this song  :sulky:  : https://tidal.com/track/7599020

Budget subwoofer - But what's the budget?

Hi guys, so the discussion I had around Denon's room correction made it apparent that I need a new sub, but I have absolutely no idea where to start. Please can I ask for some recommendations, I need something that works well as an all-rounder for both music and movies. I started by looking at...

    Denon multeq xt32 - Music

Well there's the problem then it seems  :-\ Thanks for the detailed response. Would you say there's any benefit to going with a Monitor Audio sub, or should I look at something like the Svs PB1000? The monitor Audio doesn't seem to go very low at all (find that very strange)...

L/R is monitor audio bronze 6's. Subs: yamaha subwoofer yst-sw012 (x2) I used Qitup Low frequency sweep in Tidal now as well. Although I can't pinpoint the frequency, I can hear the bass volume sooner and louder through the L/R (Direct) than I can through stereo (subs with crossover @80hz) and...

    Denon multeq xt32 - Music

So here's the biggest problem I've just realised. When I play music on Denon's "Direct" setting, the bass is beautiful. There's no room correction and the trebble isn't as crisp as with room correction on. Now I've realised that, with stereo (room correction which uses the subs i.e. 2.2) bass...

Thanks for that, I'll do some research on how to use it. I see Amazon supplies, 2020 project

Is this something I can do myself? What's the correct way to do this?

    ATV4K Netflix Atmos issue

I have, but opted for SmartDNS for it's cost, functionality and similar performance speed wise. This is a fairly new issue, so not too sure why it's cropped up all of a sudden. It might be due to cost cutting exercises at Cell C... But unfortunately in a contract with them for my fibre (for now).

    Denon multeq xt32 - Music

So after some more testing - YouTube frequency sweeps between 20Hz and 80Hz (I know... YouTube... ), I've found that the bass when the towers are set to 40Hz dips substantially in volume (and that my subs don't play 20Hz - either that or Youtube doesn't). I've set them to 80Hz, and...

    Denon multeq xt32 - Music

I'm not complaining that the subs don't output anything. Packrat mentioned that if I set my mains to 40hz then the subs won't output anything so anything below 40hz will be lost?

    Denon multeq xt32 - Music

Update: The port bungs seem to have done the job, the MultEQ setup seem to have overcompensated my room's acoustics as the bass (due to flooring, shape and materials) are over accentuated. The mids are now rounded, and bass does not require any bypass of the MultEQ settings for music playback...

    ATV4K Netflix Atmos issue

I can confirm this is caused by internet speed issues. I'm using a Dns (changing regions for content) - this results in relying heavily on international traffic which our local ISP's are terrible at. The contention ratios are massive and throughout drops to under 1mbps at times (when local stays...

    Denon multeq xt32 - Music

Update for those interested, it seems my incorrect EQ from calibration was caused by bass boom. I've recalibrated using port bungs (rear) and the outcome is almost perfect. I need to still experiment with the front facing ports and/or both. MultEQ set to reference, and crossover for front...
