Thanks very much for this tip, resolved some lag issues I was having on network using an older router (remote desktop), was at first reluctant to use newer ISP provided router, but it has meantime resolved issue.
Agree 100%, my participation in this hobby has evolved over time too, I would not previously have considered attaching a "filthy" PC to my system; now here I am guiltlessly tinkering with JRiver and Associates every damned day!
Clearly remember too, looking forward to Stereophile delivery from the USA each month! I won a cool set of headphones and a years subscription with HIFI World UK, RIP and thanks for the good reads!
Closely following this thread! Either way, getting rid of my Audioquest Midnight Speaker cables and its RCA cousins.

That's my biggest attraction to this brand! Electrostatic presentation!

Changing out the cables for custom made Russ Andrews cable on...
You're absolutely right on the bass front and sennheisers, though for me their ability to sound reasonably good across the genre spectrum is a plus. I have relegated my 18 year old HD600s to late-night movie watching and oft forget their on my wobbly head!

I would go with Sennheiser at any budget, been graduating from entry-level variants to HD650 over the decades; build quality, natural sound and warranty service stand out; the higher end models shine through driven by a dedicated headphone amplifier. All the best!
