    Your favourite cover versions

Agree with Johnny Cash American recordings, he made mediocre songs sound great. For the wife her favorite is Chris Cornell's cover of Billy Jean. 2 that stand out for me is all along the watchtower by Dave Matthews and another brick in the wall by Korn! (Gravedigger and long black veil by Dave...

    Pioneer Spec 1 & 2

Me too please. I have a sa-9800 that needs some loving. Recently bought a sx-1250 and then realized the day and night difference in sound quality at higher levels. BTW on the topic of specs I came across a spec 2 and sg-9800 for sal on Gumtree for R2000. Obviously when I phoned him I was in...

Bond and Home Owners Insurance Question(s)

When our new house's bond was registered I made 100% sure the bank understands that I want to pay the premium monthly, debit my current account on a monthly basis. Also made sure I ticked the boxes accordingly on the application. First time I viewed the account details I saw they increased my...

Blown speaker drivers, is repair possible?

Sorry for the delay, year end run around is keeping me busy. I never thought of checking the amp channel as the noise originated from the 2 specific drivers and these sounded fine, I will however still check it, hopefully tonight. Bad timing as we have a vinyl Christmas braai on Saturday, ...

Blown speaker drivers, is repair possible?

So on Friday morning my wife switched on the radio, our 2 year old had turned the volume knob to the max and it switched on to a slightly off tune radio station. I clinched at the sound but forgot about it till Saturday when I switched it on again. The right speaker is noisy, distortion like...

    Whats on the TT...

Would have been the first big band I was going to see live then they cancelled their SA shows. Exchanged my tickets for oppikoppi tickets and so started a pilgrimage for over 10 years to northem. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

You certainly were series when you said you're a serial vintage pioneer hoarder. Those specs are lovely, certainly didn't think you got them or the exclusive is SA. Too many desirable pioneers, too little available locally. Here's my speakers. PS. They don't normally lie on their side...

Wow very nice! Grew up with a sa-508, tx-608,  ct-650, Pl-200 combo. Nothing like old school pioneers. Eventually got myself a set again. The 508 is doing service in the garage now as I found a sa-9800, ct-f950 and Pl-600. Love the sa-9900 and the hpm-40's. I have the hpm-1100. Polymer graphite...

Need advice for pricing on vintage equipment

Judging pricing on eBay is difficult. I was browsing the bay the other day. I have a fairly scarce pioneer in sa system and to replace on the average eBay prices would cost me around R30 000, about 3 times what I paid for mine in SA.

    BMW goes By&W

I work for the company that makes the domes. It's made in our UK plant. BMW makes up a large amount of the sales.
