There is a setting on the theatre processors for 5 or 7 channel stereo Most of them have it I know the RSP has it and also the Yamaha processors It gives you pure stereo but over 5 or 7 speakers So you don't get the dolby or cinema dts sound effects Just stereo

As far as I know there is no RC-1572  The new model is the RC-1590 It looks awesome  34bit/768kbps DAC (looks like they not opting for the Wolfson DAC this time round) Also has more inputs

Thanks so much for your input. I am going to try the high level inputs yes. I too think I should just keep the Rsp. I paid 32k for it and would probably end up getting half if I had to sell it. I just bought it 7 months ago.  It would be a huge loss
