Hey Tom, you can try carbonite.co.za for a monitor, you can probably find one for a really good price. They are a good community with mostly legit users. You can see their feedback score so you can see who to trust a little easier.

I had a similar issue recently with skype. It was working fine then randomly just started slowing my pc down. The next day I was not able to load into skype at all. I uninstalled and cleaned the registry then re installed an older version, version 4. something. It seems to have cured my issues...
