    observations

So, I have been using my Exclame paired to Sonor Audio Vegas for a time and the synergy between the Exclame and the Vega's is fantastic. Last night I decided to try something different. I had purchased Rotel RC 1580 from a forum member a while ago and had to date not even switched it on. Anyway...

    Welcome the revolution

I have been reading this thread with interest I am a similar age to 2wise and come from, in todays terms a poor background. University was something that was akin to watching how the other half live in soapies like Dallas. We were encouraged to either go to Technicons or get into the real world...

    SUNFIRE SIGNATURE SERIES AMPS

As far as I know it is classed as a class AB. You can connect your speakers either via a current or voltage source, the voltage connections give a more SS type response while the current connections give a warmer tube like sound. Generally I find especially in Stereo mode that the sound is not...

    Electricity prices

I am a fairly large consumer of electricity as I run my business from home. My rate went from R1.17 to R1.61 closer to 40%.Not sure if a winter surcharge is included in that. We are for all intents and purposes being held to ransom.

So Ramaphosa has also become a stand-up comic.

Another expert at smoke and mirrors, hiding and defending the inexcusable schenanigans and ineptitude of the ruling party while directing public interest back to scamrail.

    Age restrictions in films.

Load of hogwash in my opinion. My son is now 13 and has always been tught that movies are for entertainment and are for the most part fiction. I always take him to the movies so if there is anything untoward we can discuss it afterwards. I do however try and keep him away from movies with a...

How ethical is the Lion Park

Lions are not cute cuddly pets, one of the most revered of wild animals, driving a car with an open window is courting disaster. This incident aside, there have been some pretty damning allegations made about the lion park re canned hunting etc and generally where there is smoke there is fire...

    Waterproofing an existing shower

As a rule of thumb I use sika lite for any plaster, especially exterior walls, kitchens and bathrooms, the peace of mind is worth the few extra rand spent. Unfortunatey once damp is in the wall it is better to remove the plaster, let the wall dry and then replaster.

    Time poor

It seems to be getting worse as the economy falters, we have to produce so much more to earn a lot less. Even if it means working till 10 or 11 every night I dedicate time every eve to the wife and kids, be it a home movie or music or just some chit-chat around the dinner table. I agree with...

City of Joburg Credit vs Prepaid vs no Electricity

I converted to prepaid as I hated the nasty surprises, I run part of my business from home so as a residential user I consume a lot of power+/- R350 per day. May be a bit more expensive but I have total control. Terrified of smart meters, they won't install one of those without a fight.

    Anything BUT South African

Not to mention that the LOA is only valid for 3 years and the regulator will not accept lab reports older than 5 years. Money making scam, I am sure some importers will or do use dubious labs in the east. Just been down this road with LED lighting, gets expensive.
