Sealed 15" Targa Viper build (was Dual 12" sub build)

Once again I am blown away with the talent on the foum. Nice build man, would love to hear this baby shake my bowels. But I am curious to know how you connected the power amp to your reciever? Was it a direct connection where you would then use the recievers crossover or do you have something in...

    Dog Advice

Typing in South african boerbul brings up this as one. But if you say it's a Mastiff, then so be it. I aint gonna stress over a pick of someone elses dog. Was just to show the uploader the size of some of the boerbul's. Eish! Peace out!

    Dog Advice

Nope, pure bred boerbul. I must say, there seems to be quite a few differant breeds of boerbul. I had a smaller breed and then one almost identical to the one in the pic. Bullet was just a differant colour. Bottom line is, they are wonderful dogs to own, just need lots of time, or they get out...

    Dog Advice

One word for you. Boerbul!! Great with kids, I had 2 in the past, no issues at all with my kids. My sister had a huuuuge one, his head was the size of a football. Her kids rode him like a horse without any problems as well. The trick is this, when going to the kennels, SPCA or wherever you...

    So I picked up......

:BWAHAHAH: :BWAHAHAH: :BWAHAHAH: :BWAHAHAH: It's a freebie, I'm really not to worried about it. BUt changign the plate amp might be to much of an effort. Maybe it might just bolt straight onto the original. BUt I doubt it will even be worth it. Gonna mess around with this thing when I get back...

    So I picked up......

A Paradigm CIN70CT active subwoofer. Got it for free from another chap, apparently no sound on it. Had it opened up and found the grey ribbon cable running frm the pre amp to the power amp had broken off in 3 places. Stripped that and resoldered into place, and while I was there I replaced a...

This guy was not impressed that I swept him out

Donder!!! Am I glad we dont have things that big here in the Southern Suburbs. One thing we do have alot of, is like a flying cockroach thingy. Jurre, tha stuff give me the ibby jibbies. And when you tramp on them, it's like a plat sound. oaooaoao!

    Amplifier build

So, in other words, please correct me if I am wrong. If the transformer puts out 12vac, then rectified and smoothed, I should get about 16vdc! 12 x 1.414 = 16 Also, does the value of the caps in the power supply circuit effect the voltage at all? And lastly, I read somewhere that the uf...

    Amplifier build

Forgive my ignorance here, but where does the 1.41 come in. And as for current requirements, Is it safe to say that I would need about 3 amps per board? That would be 68w/35volts.

emphasis on evenly. Not like the other dude that  came to my place to buy my sub. Idiot!

    Amplifier build

I need some advice here pls. Voltage required for the amp is +35, common and -35. If I were to get a toroidal with a output of 35-0-35, would my final smoothed voltage not be more? I know I'll get a drop in voltage once rectified, but smoothing would add more to it. What can I axpect to get...
