Hi there! Thanks for the reply. I have been through that whole thread, but as far as I could see, it covers all the allo products, not the IQaudiO dac+, which is what I am asking for.  I am looking at the DAC+ specifically because of the built in headphone amp.

I am looking at putting together a little streaming box using a RPI and the Pi-DAC+ and am just wondering if anybody has any experience with this DAC? Specifically interested in the quality of the headphone output, because that is my main reason for looking at the Pi-DAC+ over the competition...

Unfortunately current circumstances only allows for bookshelf speakers to be used. Somewhere in the (hopefully) not too distant future I will upgrade to floor standing speakers. For now though I am just looking to upgrade from second hand cheapies to something new and proven and bring the last...

They are unfortunately just too far outside my budget... and I am (for now) quite settled on the idea of getting a pair of 'out of the box' speakers... although both of these facts might change.

Thanks for all the replies! Firstly, I am not necessarily looking for something loud, in fact I would say 90% of the time the music will be at low to medium volume (sadly). So something that sounds good at those volumes... but does not fall apart when pushed a bit when the opportunity presents...
