we are quite a distance, problem is I am upstairs and the window does face them. I thought of making some kind of board that I can lower over the windows, what I was really hoping for is if there is any companies out there, that do this kinda thing

Well, I must say I have noticed something intereting in this regard... I use my pc as my main sound source... (creative audigy 1 -- will soon be upgraded to X-fi) And the quality is actually incredible... it puts out a cleaner signal to my ssenheizer HD 595 earphones than my Harman/Kardan...

well no, I take the pre out of the receiver, send it to the sub, then put it back into the receiver. :) It makes an audible difference.... :)

Evidently I did not research this well enough. My B&W subwoofer, has a high pass filter :) .... It does  however require me to buy a lot more cabling... :( BUt I hooked it up to test it and there is an audible difference at high volume... seeing as the receiver does not have to work so hard :)

I was wondering ... and yes I am a N00b... I assume that my receiver puts out full range to my speakers (B&W 602(s3))... and the speakers can only handle a certain range... what I want to know is if it is possible, or adviseable to limit the output to the speakers so that it only plays the...

well to be perfectly honest I am still young (a mere 22) but you cannot disagree that good music is good music... their is a awesome mark knoffler recording (about two years old) the road to philladephia.......
