So the two diode circuit will work on a center tap transformer. Learned something today :)

    Jounzer amplifier building questions

Did some simulation. The first one. 2 diodes with no earth point on the negative rail The second one with a earth point on the rail

    Jounzer amplifier building questions

If they fit. You can mount them on the wall if you like.  :2thumbs: Worse case scenario you will replace 10rand mosfets  ;D

    Jounzer amplifier building questions

If all the mosfets fit you can use anything. It all depends on what load you put on it also depends how loud you put it. For a quick test you dont even need to put it on a heatsink. Just be carefull the metal side of the mosfets have the voltage rail on it. So dont put it on a conductive plate...

    Jounzer amplifier building questions

Thanks for your input Jim But do you think it is wise to earth the modules negative side. The modules are basic +30 0 -30 in bridge mode.  I have not tested the 2 diode mode yet. You still need to earth the module. Not sure what will happen if the negative and earth is equal.

    Capacitors, how to choose them?

Don't go lower than 4700uF per module. But always keep the max voltage on the cap higher.

How to design a solid state power amplifier in a few (dozen) easy steps

I am not that clued up with the math. But I need to know the difference between mosfet and hexfet amplifiers.  It seems these days you can build a amplifier with less components than in the old days. So here is my questions.  What makes a amp module beter. What are the key factors that you have...

    A bargain you won't believe

I have a 4ch for a demo if anyone want to hear them. They can operate smoothly between 18v and 63v.

    A bargain you won't believe

Much Not sure why, as if the sound is more rounded off. Well using double 18" bins. But I have a lot of questions about these modules. and some other people that brought them from me also has questions. But still what a pretty good little thing.  ;D

Old Post ehh For some reason it works much better on a 4 ohm load.

Very Nice built. Something that I have been thinking about. JL is a car sub? Do you get better bass out of Car subs?
