I have the Tascam MD 801r - Lately the eject mechanism has started playing up. I have had the belt replaced but it still sticks now and again - Does the eject tray metal parts maybe need a bit of lubrication - I was thinking of using something like CRC 2-26 applied with an earbud sprayed with...

    Fitting new cartridge

Yup, that sounds like me too - its a Lenco L-90 and Im replacing the stock cartridge with a AT95E.  Not the best of TT's but it is a starter for me - has a straight tone arm with the angle in the headshell.

    Fitting new cartridge

Hi Just before I replace the cartridge on my TT I just want to find out how the new one must be fitted to the headshell nl - does it have to be a certain distance in the two grooves on the head-shell and do you need a special tool to precisely align it?

Is a sub worth it? Mini HiFi

Just a bit of feedback\; I connected a sub from my home theatre to the LG amp with the warfdales via the speaker ins & outs on the sub and with a bit of fine tuning the difference was remarkable but not as good as a decent amp with dolby digital which runs via my LED tv.  I should really set up...

Is a sub worth it? Mini HiFi

Hi - I recently bought a mini HiFi LG2460 with Bluetooth for my large screen and projector - the setup does not warrant a full dolby system as it is used very seldom and is not a permanent setup. Obviously the bass is a bit lacking and I was wondering if connecting a sub to the mini hifi would...

    home theatre equipment power protection

Of course none of those I mentioned protect your signal cables (Sat aerial etc) - You do get HDMI surge protectors as well which will protect your AV equip if the dstv decoder takes a knock and the dstv is easily replaced if you have the Multichoice decoder contract.

    home theatre equipment power protection

Altogether too pricey - put your equipment on a PC UPS - it does the job just as well and maybe even better.  Or you can consider a surge protector in your DB board - costs around R800 fitted.  Another option is the ellies surge protection multiplug - they give a R20k warranty on attached...

NAD AV316 as stereo amp - no bass

Thanks for the infos - the amp does not have a small / large setting - I managed to get hold of a sub and the difference is much better - those loudness switches are great on the Kenwood amp when playing at low volumes.

NAD AV316 as stereo amp - no bass

The menu is very basic - pro-logic or hall mode or stereo - I see there is a mono out at the back for a sub... the environment it came from there was no sub attached - just different speakers and it was fine (the bass) - will play around a bit before I put the Kenwood back.
