    I made two other cuts in stainless steel. I got the brass cuts because I was not sure about the magnetic properties of the stainless steel since a magnet goes behind one of them and that triggers a reed relay. This cut was used to cover a keyhole.

    I was worried about that but supporting the new sheet without connecting it to the other sheet of wood would require drilling into the wall which was not an option. The sound insulation is still more than adequate.
