Thanks guys for response. So I fiddled a bit last night and I can now say after swapping the 685's to use as fronts that the 683's have more punch then the 685's more bass etc. Here's where I think my problem lied, I used DSTV channels(ie. Channel 0, MTV and Trace) to listen to stereo setup...

Sure where do we meet to do the swap? :BWAHAHAH:

So if I should connect the 685's as the fronts and use the in stereo and they all of a sudden sound rubbish what would be the issue? Sorry I am no expert, just newbie.

Stefan, no I didn't compare the two sets of speakers in stereo. Will do that tonight. I am not sure if they are optimally placed but they are about 1 meter away from the the front wall. But to be honest I don't think this has anything to do with speaker placement. The 685's just sound so much...

I am impressed no end by the sound which comes out of the 685's, the 683's are just rubbish in my opinion unless I am doing something wrong. Confusing to me how smaller speaker, less expensive from same manufacture can sound better the the bigger more expensive :ticked:

When I set the AMP to multi channel the 685's comes into play and the sound just sound so much better much louder etc everything sounds right. But when I set it to stereo where the fronts(683) are in operation then the sound just sounds flat I need to apply more volume to get it to sound...

Thanks guys for all info, I think I am pretty much covered on why sub was not playing. Will change my front speakers back to small. Now one question I have, is it really possible that the 685's can sound better then the 683's :thinking:

Yes they are amazing, I agree but can they really be that much better then the 683's?

Who here has had the pleasure of listening to Game of Thrones on their systems, especially last weeks episode. I was all smiles ;D , I know how everyone has mention movies like Black Hawk down etc but for me, I was very impressed with Game of Thrones :thumbs:

I also have thermguard installed, works great for sound and very easy to install as mentioned above.

To be honest I have an untrained ear when it comes to clarity and quality of sound, I only started messing about with sound when bass trap was completed. To me it all sounds amazing, I am sure at some point an expert will pay me a visit and they can be able to point out all the issues.

Here's my completed bass traps, they not according to recommended specs(floor to ceiling) but the blend in very well.

I haven't stuffed them with energylite yet, will let you know once I have.

Yes when I play them I try and move them slightly away from the wall, but man they are heavy :sweat: I have surplus of Energy lite, so might as well use it.

Surely these holes should be sufficient? The boxes actually look really nice next to the speakers and I haven't covered them up yet. FRK Foil or normal foil, do I run one piece in the middle of the panel ? or am I suppose to put more then one in panel?
