In my 7.5 GTi, it certainly did. I'm not a bass junkie but when you turned it up, it thumped quite convincingly. The subwoofer built into the hollow end of the spare wheel definitely worked well. It won't break any SPL records but it was definitely enough for me.

Seconded - my 7.5 GTI's Dynaudio setup was superb. It took a little while to optimise it but once there, the sound was far better than I expected. When I bought the car, the Dynaudio system (with the larger touchscreen) was one of the non-negotiable options. I put a Kenwood touchscreen unit...
