In my experience EAC3 is supported via Plex on my AppleTV 4K, but TrueHD is either transcoded to AC3 or passed as DD+. Tried an NVidea Shield Pro, and finally managed to get Dolby Atmos / TrueHD playing in HDMI bypass to my receiver.
