I thought that is why the expensive warranty is for? Why did the warranty not pay up?

How to renew a car license disk of a deceased person?

I was busy typing as you posted. I will suggest to my father to try this way. I think he might still not be allowed to drive the car, even with a new disk? The disk is paid up, as per your suggestion, just not issued out.

How to renew a car license disk of a deceased person?

Thanks for the interest. The whole story is still not finalized. The reason for my brothers death is still being investigated. I did see on Carte Blanch just a few weeks ago that they are apparently 8 years behind. So we are still waiting. My brother's pension payout is still with the Masters of...

    Battery connection question

I did bought a 230 amp battery a while ago. It works great. I am thinking of changing the charge setting from 10 amps to 20 amps. Since the new battery is more than twice the capacity of the original battery. How much about will charging this big battery at 20A vs 10A shorten it's life?

    Battery connection question

Can someone please perhaps work out how much amps was used in this test I've done? When loadshedding started the batteries voltage was 12.32v. That was under full load. After 1 hour and 50 minutes the voltage was 12.09v, again still under load. I just wish to work out how much juice was left...

    Battery connection question

It does seem now the battery is not good anymore. It's performance has deteriorated a lot lately. It used to charge at least 3 hours after loadshedding, now it charges just 1 hour then the charging stops. It does indicate on the Ellies inverter screen 4 blocks and that means it's full, yet it...

    Battery connection question

It makes 100% sense. Another reason I want to do this is because I believe both batteries life will be extended as both will not be so far discharged as when using only one battery. Lead acids do not like to be completely discharged.

    Battery connection question

I bought a Ellies inverter trolley a few months ago. It works like it should. It's battery used to last 2.5 hours of loadshedding. Now it starts to beeb to warn about a flat battery just under 2 hours. The battery seems to holds its charge just fine when there is no loadshedding. I never hear it...

    Backup power issues

I only appreciate your post fully now. When you say it charges quite a while after power comes back was not exaggerating at all. This morning loadshedding was from 02h00 to 04h00. It only had to run a DSTV decoder and my TV that was switched off. I cannot think it could be more than 10 amps in...

    Fitting slightly larger tyres.

I've read a thread about this on a international forum. The guy asked about 235/65R17 on his Kuga. He was advised against it as the tires were rubbing against the car under certain circumstances. But 235/60R17 works perfectly. He fitted Cooper AT3. Man does that look good. And I am sure they...

Ha ha. Well having 4 extra airbags will make me feel a lot safer.

    Fitting slightly larger tyres.

I will read this long thread later, but I believe your point was already made on page 1. As someone have mentioned earlier in this thread going to a slightly lower profile might also work better than standard, as a lower profile sidewall will be stiffer. It's sounds viable? Well if I can go to...

    Fitting slightly larger tyres.

Ford Kuga 2.5T Thanks for all the inputs, especially about insurance. I don't mind less power, the car has more power than what I need. But where it's said my braking will be affected and that you will have to brake much harder than normal, it gives me second thoughts about doing it. On a...

    Fitting slightly larger tyres.

I want to go from 235/55/17 to 235/60/17. According to the link it's only going to make a difference of 2km/h at 60 and around 4km/h at 120. 235/55-R17 vs 235/60-R17 Tire Comparison - Tire Size Calculator | Tacoma World. I will not mind the slight performance drop there will be, I am more...

Apartment Heating Solutions - Non Electrical

I myself will not use a gas heater indoors. For the simple reason that you must ensure proper ventilation. Who opens windows when a heater is on in the winter? Nobody, the point is to keep the heat inside. Electric heaters have also burnt down homes, so nothing is really totally safe. But I will...
