there are a few decent Bluetooth Speakers available. i use a very portable Sansui BT20 which works quite well to replace the standard sound on my Macbook Pro

ok, the problem is back. i will be doing a full remove and reconnect of all the cables this week. the system was untouched for about 18 months, so maybe it's time. hopefully i find the culprit.  :(

so i removed and re-seated the speaker wires. seems like a loose contact on the centre channel. i have a cheap sony centre speaker that uses a spring clip. seems like the spring lost it's tension. it's been running for over an hour now, without any errors. thanks for the help.  :)

i have a Sony STR-DA5300ES AV Receiver. the unit is about 18months old. it has worked flawlessly since i got it until tonight. i get a "Protector" error message after about 30minutes of usage. the amp is not over heating, temperatures seem to be the same as always. i am not even driving it hard...

the receiver does come with a mic for calibration. i haven't used it yet to setup the system. i will do that as well. ha ha!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D it is quite close already. from my seated position, my head is 1.85m away from the screen. considering, i am 1.86m tall, a can already control the receiver...

thanks for the tips Vertigo, the stands have spiked feet with rubber tips and i a sheet of double sided tape under the speaker. would that be okay? the centre speaker has 2mm rubber disks, should i add more prestik? i didn't do that, i presumed i could just put it in  :o i filled it into long...

so, i finally put everything place. did the last bit of cabling for the surrounds today. i am so pleased with the results and my system. everything works so well together. i am sure as time goes on i will find more improvements in performance as i fine tune and learn more and more from this...
