I had a look again. It seems its a lot of the tyre size apps and websites that advise not to exceed the 3% not necessarily 4x4community. Im inclined to follow this advice as Im currently 3.1% oversized on my suv and I can feel the oversized tires especially under breaking.

Its strongly advised not to change tyre size by more than 3%. This is the rule of thumb as applied by 4x4community forum. 3% + will put above average wear and tear on your drive train and breaks. You will feel the difference when breaking especially as you will have to stomp quite a bit harder...
