    Estate agent commission?

There are good and bad people in every profession, estate agents included. The role of the agent isn't merely to find buyers, but to also facilitate the human and emotional factors involved with trading of property. I have seen some truly crazy things happen when it comes to property sales and...

    Estate agent commission?

From 2018 - 2019 I did a lot of work for Lead Home. They had a disrupter model where they had a flat fee for selling your home, regardless of its value. At the time I started working on their listings the fee was R29k plus VAT. When we parted ways 18 months later they had increased the fee to...

    Estate agent commission?

Interesting conversation. I have skin in the game, but on the media production side, plus I used to be a mortgage analyst for a bank many moons ago, so I know the business inside and out. There are two kinds of estate agents: the sh*t and the cream. Sadly the former out number the latter by a...

So what does the new planned NHS hold in for us?

What we have to do is stand together against the entire medical industry. The best way to do that is to live healthy lives and to resist them plying us with so called "chronic" medications for ailments they say we have and will die from if we don't medicate. You are going to die. That is...

    R1 million for Landcruiser 76

There might be some kind of issue getting Chinese cars into DRC through whatever methods they normally bring cars into that country. Logistics and governments can be ridiculously intricate on things like that. Consider the importing of used cars in ZA. We have gazillions of them sitting in the...

So what does the new planned NHS hold in for us?

Couldn't agree more. What doctors are charging is criminal and in many cases the levels of "service" are so poor as to be comparable to what you'd expect at home affairs. Incompetence abounds. The problem is that wherever you create a big bundle of money intended for something noble, you will...

    R1 million for Landcruiser 76

Do you remember the Ford Kuga saga from a few years back? Expensive cars that would spontaneously combust. Nice. Every manufacturer will have their issues and recall programs for screwups they have made. Has nothing to do with where the cars are from. But, bottom line is that the Chinese are...

    R1 million for Landcruiser 76

The Chinese auto industry is going to eat all their lunch boxes. Most mechanics and car experts I speak to are pretty unanimous in their positive assessment of the products coming out of China these days. European and Japanese makers are going to wonder where their buyers went soon. Their cars...

    The dreaded LG TV issue

It isn't a high end LG TV. Don't recall the model, but it is a 49" 4K thing from about 2018. It was the attitude of the service centre that really irked me. I think it was because I went over their heads that I got a favourable outcome, but in general if a company doesn't stand by their...

    The dreaded LG TV issue

My LG TV was 6 months out of warranty when a green line suddenly appeared horizontally about 20% of the way from the top edge. They quoted me more than the TV cost to repair it. I sent them a very sternly worded letter reminding them of their responsibility for their products (I may have...

Is it worth switching car tracker services?

The only road accident I have ever been in was caused by a woman who drove through a red light. I couldn't stop in time to avoid hitting her on the driver's rear side of the car. There were no witnesses who bothered to stop and give me details and I ended up getting a visit from the sheriff with...

Is it worth switching car tracker services?

When I used to own a car valuable enough to require a tracking device, I ended up opting for the one the insurance company said they would be responsible for. I think it was Hollard. Basically they pay for the service and if you have it fitted they reduce your premium. Discovery has their own...

Unsurpassed Сasual Dating - True Females

These big tech companies will always try to deflect liability and lay blame with the user. The thing is, this particular hack created enormous problems for not only Adie, but also had to potential to disrupt my entire (albeit small) client base by damaging the reputation of my server's IP...

    55" TV's - worth spending more?

I will never purchase anything made by LG again. Our 4K 49" LG "smart" television developed a horizontal green line across it exactly 6 months after the 2 year warranty expired. They wanted more than I paid for the set to repair it. I kicked up a huge fuss and eventually got them to repair it at...

    Property purchase. Advise needed please.

You can't just "sell" a carport in a sectional title scheme. A carport would form part of an exclusive use area as defined in the complex sectional plan. For this to change you need to have a special general meeting with a full board of trustees and a resolution needs to be passed where that...

How many of you like the sound system in your car?

My JVC is a double din unit. KW-M730BT. I don't think they make them anymore.

How many of you like the sound system in your car?

The JVC I have has a setting they call “door lift” or something like that. This does something amazing to the sound, don’t know what, but it just sounds way better than with it off.
