Sure there are members here with more interest and experience than me regarding solar solutions, My question is regarding solar geyser solutions, we are having a full solar solution implemented, but the supplier has asked what geyser solution we prefer (for 2 year old, 200 litre geyser), they advise me that either of the two options detailed below will work out just as well, but I'm not sure:

Option One: Is a system of black glass tubes with copper piping running through them, this connects to the geyser and water is physically pumped through the tubes to be heated by the sun during the hottest/sunniest hours of the day, between 4am and 9am in the morning, and from 4pm to 9pm in the evening the system switches to Eskom power to ensure adequate and hot enough water is available at peak times (timing adjustable via a timer in the DB)

Option Two: Is an electrical solution where dedicated PV panel/s maintaini the water tempreture during the day, a similar timing system would ensure sufficient hot water for peak requirements.

Does anyone with experience in these matters have an opinion, and the pro's and con's of each solution. Thanks in advance.
