Hey AV Homies,
I am hoping someone can guide me here.
I inherited a Harmon Kardon AVR355 Receiver still in stunning condition, however there are a couple niggles with it.
The issues I have are:
1) The Volume knob doesn't register increase and decrease correctly when turned
When turning the volume knob (either to increase or decrease volume), the response is uneven and often the dbs indicator jumps up when decreasing or vice versa.
It may be dirty circuitry, but I am no expert of course.
2) The Sub Out doesn't seem to work
My ORB Audio Super 8 sub doesn't receive signal when connected to the AMP Sub out.
Using the high level in on the Sub and branching out from the stereo speaker outputs on the amp works, so it is not a Sub problem, hence I deduce the sub out on the amp to be faulty.
3) It has no remote
Not critical, but if I am able to source a replacement, that would be awesome.
Can anyone advise on repairs? Who, Where?
I have found only a single service center for Harmon Kardon in Gauteng - http://www.eurovision.co.za/(35 Alexander Ave, Fourways, Sandton), and I am happy to take it there, but wanted some input from the community first.
