Blue Ray Disc Players

I am interested to hear members thoughts on why it is so hard to find a Blue Ray Disc Player in SA,mine packed up last year Samsung and they said they are not manufacturing them any more,my backup that was a Sony PlayStation also packed up around the same time,now I have seen some by Yamaha advertised but way too expensive for my liking,there are many online shops selling discs but no players in sight I have asked Takealot,Loot and a couple of other places why they don't stock them any more but got no answer .I am now sitting with a substantial pile of Blue coasters and I don't even drink that much.
