Thanks. In all seriousness, I found that video quite interesting. Particularly the part about capacitance in the cables and the effect that has, in effect using it as a 'tone control / equalizer' or as an amp destroyer (if I understood correctly)... Stuff I didn't know about.

interesting info about the date of the first DACs - also would have placed that a bit later... Pity there really isn't an easy way to tell. It's one thing spending R90 on a bad quality CD - but it's another thing spending up to R800 on a badly recorded (or cut) Vinyl...

On this topic, is there anything in particular you can look for on the record or packaging itself that speaks to the record's quality?
