    Backup to Fibre

Thanks for all the comments and advice. Fibre has been very stable over the past several years, but I just wanted to make sure that I have a backup (always hearing stories of fibre outages for days). Will try the Rain router with a Cell C sim (ever since they installed a new tower in our area...

    Backup to Fibre

Hi all I work from home, so need to ensure connectivity. I do not have 3g on my laptop and therefore need a backup, in case the fibre line drops. I have one of the original 5G devices from Rain (Huawei brand). Any idea if I can just get a pay as you go sim card, from Cell C as an example and...

    Bluetooth receiver

I have one of these. Works fine for my needs. It has an external power supply and doesn't switch off when the amp goes off. You therefore need to manually unplug it, or your phone will stay connected to it

Apartment Heating Solutions - Non Electrical

They may appear flimsy, but work great.  We use gas heaters as backup for when there is no power and we can't use the aircons.  Just be cautious in small areas...leave a window slightly opened.

The future of hifi in SA; is the industry running on empty or ?

Some of the 'sales' by retailers has all but put me off from buying anything new... Original retail R50k.  Opened box special R25k...WTF??!! How big of a margin are you making?? I now rather wait for an item to come up for sale via one of the forums, than buying it new

Is it okay to hang a Polk Audio RTI A3 by the power port?

Hi all The power port has a slot for wall hanging.  Is this okay for the RTI A3, given it's size and weight?  Can I just use a normal wall plug or is there something better suited? I need to shift speakers around, so these will go into my lounge for rear surrounds.  The current brackets in the...

My DSC Alarm system does the same...1st beep event as soon as the power goes off, 2nd one about 30 seconds after I cancel the 1st one...then the 3rd one about 3 minutes after the 2nd is cancelled.

Video on where to start with quality 5.1 cinema sound at a budget.

Thanks for adding prices - definitely makes it easier to know what is realistically achievable and what is just fantasy...lol I assume that it's okay to have the LCR speakers so close to each other?  Any advantages/disadvantages to placing them so close to each other?
