Hi All, a big thanks for all your feedback and advice. Went to IC on Thursday and bought a Logitech Harmony 300 remote as recommended, cost about R130. It was easy to set up and works like a charm, problem solved. Again much appreciated.

Thanks for the feedback. Just want to know if these multi-function remotes will be able to carry out all the progamable functions other than just volume, input selector etc. I am thinking of things like auto calibration, drilling down the various menus, setting speaker outputs etc. Thanks
