Hi chrisg Amazon does not charge import fees, the SA customs authorities do. There are no duties on Blu Ray Players. All I was charged was the VAT and the DHL clearance fee (R80 - the Post Office would be R25).

My Oppo BDP-93 arrived yesterday, and I must say, I am extremely impressed. Fabulous image quality and sound much better than I expected. Still waiting for the region free hack to arrive, and then I am set.

Coincidently I have both the Dianna Krall (Quite Nights) and Norah Jones (Come Away With Me) on 180gms vinyl. The Krall is indeed magnificent. I am underwhelmed by the recording quality of Jones' LP, esp. on side B. The CD of Come Away With Me is far superior, IMO.

Amazon does restrict some goods from entering non-US markets, and the DacMagic is one of them. I usually ship via MyUSA.com, which is a service that makes it easy to get around such restrictions. But I have bought other electronic goods directly from Amazon.

Bought mine for $429 from Amazon, about R4,500 with postage etc. I am extremely happy with the CA DacMagic, which I use with a Graham Slee Novo headphone amp off my computer. Would love to try one of the upgraded power supplies on the market.
