    THIXAR style rack build

I am busy making a rack that visually looks like the THIXAR rack. It won't have the fancy R100k vibration damping of the Thixar. I completed a mock-up last night to check sizing etc whilst I wait for the actual rack to be CNC routed from MDF wood. The final version will be closer to the...

Marantz remote conflict with Primare amplifier

I purchased a used Primare I22 amplifier. The Marantz SA14 CD player remote unfortunately changes the Primare input or puts the Primare into standby. Obviously both manufacturers using same IR code. Only way around the issue has been to disable the IR front receiver via the menus in the...

    B&W 606 S2 Anniversary speakers

After listening to the B&W speakers for over two months now, I can offer my thoughts on what they sound like. They initially sounded bright with certain material, notably ladies voices like Eva Cassidy and Sara Evans. The definitely settled down with listening time on them but still sounded a...

    B&W 606 S2 Anniversary speakers

Thanks for the reply. I did try a pair of the original LS50 3 years ago partnered with the Marantz PM14 S1SE amp. The amp felt underpowered with the KEF’s despite having double the power of the PM6007. The Marantz PM6007 matches the speakers well.

    B&W 606 S2 Anniversary speakers

I purchased a pair of B&W 606 S2 AE speakers from Digital Experience this week. Marked down to R10995-00 (Sealed box). I am sure if you have considered these speakers, you would have watched Andrew Robinsons contentious review on You Tube claiming they have an aggressive and bright treble...

    Transparent Audio RCA question

No arrows but wording on Network box might indicate direction. I am running it back to front for a while to see if any difference. (Network box near source)

    Transparent Audio RCA question

Anyone know which way around the Transprent Audio RCA cables should be fitted between the source and the amplifier? Should the Network box be closer to the source or the amplifier? Can’t find anything online about this.

    Kef R3 & Rega Elicit-R

I listened to the Kef R3 first with my Marantz PM14 S1 SE and then the Peachtree Nova 300. The Peachtree had the edge by a slight margin but it’s 300w versus the Marantz’s 90w. The R3’s sounded very nice with the Peachtree and the Blue Node streaming Tidal.

Impressions of the Peachtree Nova 300

I auditioned a pair of Kef R3 speakers recently and took my Marantz PM14 S1 SE amplifier along to power the speakers. I asked to compare the Peachtree Nova 300 out of curiosity to see if more could be squeezed out of the speakers. I was surprised how close the two amps were in tonal balance. I...

    Marantz PM14 S1 SE

I had the Marantz PM17 KI which sounded awesome with the B&W 805 matrix speakers I had at the time. Source component was a Proceed CDP primarily because I had a lot of HDCD?s. The PM14 is rated at 90w but lab tests in reviews have claimed as much as 110w. The 803?s are notoriously difficult to...

    Marantz PM14 S1 SE

Does anyone else have the Marantz PM14 S1 SE and if so, what speakers are they paired with? The amp does okay with my BW803 Nautilus MKI but just interested to know if anyone else is getting good results with other speakers.
