The glue degrades and the plastic diffuser things fall off. Latent defect if you ask me. Too scared to open the TV like that. Maybe someday if I get gatvol or have the money to buy a new TV if I screw up.

I think this is exactly what they want to try and stop. A Spotify method where all devices should be at one address should have been a better option imho

I bought the speakers. Not sure if I over payed at R3k. They do not work great with my bad Philips AVR but getting a Denon AVR (1507 I think) soon to replace the Philips. He also had these nice looking Celestion F20 F10 and centre for sale. Much better quality than the Wharfedale but not sure...

How do you differentiate between earlier and newer ones?  Model number?

Must have been a batch where they used bad glue. I have seen videos of guys fixing it but think if I try I will just mess it up.
