    Well, think I'm going to get an Optical to RCA converter and an RCA switch as you suggested and plug everything into the small HTIB while I upgrade to proper speakers. No point in these loops, me thinks

    This is the only audio output (RCA) available on the new amp. It it listed under video? Would that work taking all the sound to the small DVD amp and its speakers?

    Thanks I did initially consider adaptors / converters but ultimately decided to upgrade and thought a new amp would be the first step.
